To put Palin in the same category as Susan B. Anthony is a travesty. You should be ashamed.

Susan B. Anthony practiced and preached nonviolence. Sarah Palin apparently believes that life begins at conception and ends at birth. her equation of herself with SBA just shows how shallowly she understands what it means to value all life.

Couldn't agree more with the other commenters - poor Suzy B. must be spinning in her grave. What a twisted organization this is...demented, misguided, and without shame - though it should be pigged with it.

I disagree with all the negs. Sarah Palin could have aborted a down syndrome child, but chose to give birth to it. Though her daughter conceived out of wedlock, she did not encourage her to abort. Both took more courage than just killing someone that would be a "burden" or cause "shame." If you read and interpret the quote correctly from Sarah Palin she said: "Susan B. Anthony. I have great respect there for the history. She was a pro-life feminist and those things that she stood for, and she was so far ahead of her time. It amazes me." The original post compared the two in the context of their pro-life stance, and that is true. It's sad that people are so full of hate and so critical of others that they just make negative comments without a basis for doing so. Although it is cruel to dismiss women who have abortions as feckless "murderers"---I *do* believe abortion is unjust lifetaking, and I promote education about prenatal development as a necessary part of comprehensive sex education.

I *am* glad that Sarah and Bristol Palin's babies are alive. And I *know* it's no picnic to go through a crisis pregnancy. I have done so myself, and have also supported my daughter through *her* unplanned pregnancy. I have also done more than you will ever, ever know to make abortion a thing of the past, by getting at its root causes.

And yes, Susan B. Anthony would be glad too that the Palin women and and their babies, that I and my daughter and my grandbaby are alive and well.

However, this does *not* mean that Palin can in any way equate her generally right wing, conservative agenda with SBA's!

For one, SBA opposed the death penalty, and apparently was a vegetarian. The evidence also suggests she was a lesbian. She did not hold to conservative religious theologies.

So if Palin wants to compare herself to SBA, she has a LOT of explaining to do!
