Just glancing at it it seems hard to pin down direct relationships except very generally. If I were going to address it demographically I'd definitely be looking at factors like population density, urban v. rural distribution, ethnic distribution, and perhaps religious influences. I think the presence or absence of protective law (informed consent, ultrasound option, or parental notification) in individual states might also be of interest.
