President-Elect Barack Obama has began appointing abortion-rights activists to key posts in his administration.
Ellen Moran, current Executive Director of EMILY's List was chosen as Whitehouse Communications Director earlier this week. Politico reports, "EMILY's List, one of the most important Democratic constituency groups, says it is 'dedicated to building a progressive America by electing Democratic pro-choice women to office.'"
In addition, a pro-abortion lawyer has been appointed to Obama's Judicial team:
Dawn Johnsen, a prominent pro-abortion lawyer, has been named by Obama to serve as a member of his Department of Justice Review Team. She is a long-time abortion advocate and was Legal Director for NARAL from 1988 to 1993. She presently is a professor at Indiana University School of Law.
Mike Fitcher, executive director of Indiana Right to Life, told Steven Ertelt at Life News, "Obama's pick is disturbing evidence that the promotion and advancement of abortion on demand will be a high level priority for the incoming administration."
