I agree that these videos are confusing and a little ridiculous. But they also contribute to our society's complete misunderstanding of the word freedom. Aristotle describes it in his Politics as one of the hallmarks of "extreme democracies." This is the idea that freedom means "the doing of what one likes." This is not what freedom is. Freedom, or free will, is the capacity to make an informed decision based on the truth, in this case, the truth that an unborn child is a human being deserving of rights. A decision that ignores this truth is made in ignorance, and therefore is not free.

On a somewhat unrelated note: This campaign, while really quite weird, takes advantage of all kinds of different resources. Facebook, myspace, twitter (what is this?), and text messaging are all used. Pro-lifers need to start utilizing the internet and text messaging in smarter ways that appeal to the younger generation.

Isn't it ironic that these are the very things NARAL would like to deny to pro-lifers? If pro-abortion groups like NARAL and PP had their way, no doctor would have the free.will.power to follow his or her own conscience, and no taxpayer the right to refuse to fund the intrinsic evil of abortion.
