This is the greatest pick McCain could pick. I can't believe it. I am so excited and everyone I talk to, those who are involved in politics and could care less about politics are excited about this choice. I want to celebrate!!

My previous support of McCain has been half-hearted, looking at him as the lesser of evils. I now have renewed confidence in him and in the Republican Party.

I am thrilled about this pick. Sarah Palin seems like a genuine person, and she has a strong conservative/middle class story. I am thrilled. And the "best kept secret" was a wonderful secret.

I'm not a frequent visitor to your blog, but I stumbled upon it and feel compelled to express how disheartened I am by the focus of these comments. If the readers of this blog were excited because a McCain/Palin ticket seemed, to them, to offer the best available responses to the major issues--domestic and international--facing America today, I'd respect your positions. But these comments portray a myopic view of American politics--a view that I fear will lead our country down a destructive path. I understand that this particular issue is of tremendous importance to you, but don't you think the President, and the person a heartbeat from the presidency, should have an entire package of policies addressing the full range of issues at play before they win your support?

I am thrilled with McCain choosing Palin! She is a member of Feminists for Life and has LIVED the pro-life message through the birth of her son.

After over 30 years of trying to get a real pro lifer in the white house, I could almost cry at what a wonderful opportunity this is.

I am very pleased with McCain's choice. Wow! Not only am I pleased, but impressed as well. She is genuine and animated. Best of all she stands up for the most innocent among us. I cannot wait to tell my daughters about the first female Republican candidate when they get home from school. :O) Awesome!

I believe today's events are the result of prayer. When everything else fails us, God doesn't. Morality in this country has been on the decline for years, and I believe that the legality of abortion is at the heart of our problems. Sarah Palin is the answer to our prayers! I could not be more surprised nor more excited about Senator McCain's choice!

No, the murder of innocent people in Iraq, Iran, and Kurdistan has never been acceptable to me. As a pro-life Arab-American, I want to say something to you: NOBODY murdered more innocent people than Saddam Hussein, except Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin. The liberal propaganda has you jumping up and down about the supposedly awful things America has done in Iraq. Wake up, get some *factual* information, and--trust me--you can be proud of what American forces have done for freedom in Iraq. When things settle down in Iraq, as they have been doing and will, you will see what I am talking about. People can play soccer without being murdered, women can walk to church without having acid thrown in their faces, Kurds and Iranians and Shi'a won't have to fear being killed with chemical WMD, and American socialists will eventually accept Saddam's death and the loss of another socialist country. The people of Iraq don't want al-Qaida, and they do *not* want liberal American values.

The murder of innocent people anywhere is unacceptable. However, the number of people whose deaths are attributable to the Iraq war over the past five years (this includes all Iraqi and American combatants as well as non-combatants who've died as a direct or indirect result of the war) is equal to the number of people killed by abortion in approximately ONE MONTH. In fact, more Americans have died from abortion than from all of the wars America has ever participated in combined.

Additionally, many people (myself included) believe that McCain's foreign policy is more likely to stem the violence in Iraq than is Obama's.

Halellujah!!! What an excellent choice for McCain's VP running mate! I was blown out of the water when I started hearing about her, only an hour before the real announcement. I was glued to the TV~~ LOL~~ waiting for that official announcement. God has truly blessed us with this woman of God. I am so excited, as so many of you have already stated. I can't wait to hear more from her. It is the most excited I've been about the Republican party.... for YEARS!!!

McCain has really made things interesting with his choice of Palin. Thank God for a pro-life candidate, whether woman or man. Of course, the anti-life crowd who claim to be for empowering women and women's rights won't "count" Sarah as a woman since she is on the wrong side of the aisle and staunchly pro-life!

I'm ready to quit my job and work on this campaign. God help us if the other side wins.

When I heard this today, I was SO thrilled!! Palin was my preferred choice, but I honestly didn't think McCain would give her a second look.

Why haven't the media zeroed in on her as a short-lister for VP??!!! She's PERFECT! I was in tears when I found out she was McCain's VP choice! Sarah Palin passes the “commander-in-chief test." Without life we have nothing. If one is not wiling to protect the life of our most vulnerable citizens one is not fit for the Presidency of the United States of America! Sarah Palin’s pro-life record, in the clearest of terms, shows that her personal beliefs match her public life. In other words Sarah’s walk matches her talk.

I believe in order to be “great,” one must be “good,” willing to set aside his or her own interests, even to point of sacrificing their own life.

If the African-American community is to live out the dream of Dr. Martin L. King, Jr., we must value the content of a person's moral character far above the color of their skin or our own personal gain.

I believe African-Americans have much to gain in this election where so many issues are clearly biblical (abortion, taxpayer funding of abortion, traditional marriage, parental notification, abstinence and marriage education, embryonic stem cell research, human cloning, euthanasia, etc.) and in my opinion “non-negotiable.”

I believe the “conservative agenda is the best agenda” for resolving the issues surrounding war, terrorism, judges, school choice, religious liberty, business freedom, health care, education, welfare, labor, housing, and retirement.

I believe that it is critical that we support candidates that will publicly stand and fight for what they personally claim to believe.

I believe it is time to take our biblical values to the voting booths and vote our values.

As for "me and my household," we are voting for the McCain-Palin ticket.

What a way to energize the GOP! McCain made a fantastic pick for VP. Here is a woman who is pro-life, a maverick, and not afraid to take on special interests. The other side may talk about her "inexperience", yet she is the only one of ALL of the candidates with executive GOVERNING experience. Way to go Sen. McCain!

As a mother, I can see how one would have this reaction, however, Palin is a heroine. And these days, that's what we need. People need someone to look up to. A woman who is raising five children with her husband and has the record of Life and career successes that Sarah Palin has is just the ticket. While a child needs a lot of time with mom and maybe a special needs child needs even more, her husband Todd has said if she is elected, he will quit his job to spend more time with the children. That's two heroes by my account.

Finally women have a real "choice" to get excited about! The founding mothers of feminism would be PROUD! Females should never have to choose between their sex and their offspring.

We are so excited and hopeful with the choice of Palin. What awonderful example she is for so many women. God is so good and we continue to ask for His guidance and blessing over the next few months of campainging for Sarah and John McCain.

I think there were many other Republican women with more experience than Palin, for example Olympia Snow, Susan Collins, Kay Bailey Hutchison, and I'm surprised McCain choose someone who had only been a government for 2 years and had only been a mayor of a town of < 7,000 before that.

As a pro-lifer, I will not be voting for Ms. Palin and McCain. Both are staunch supporters of the death penalty, and Ms. Palin's environmental views leave much to be desired. What is pro-life about supporting the killing of killers (or those believed to be killers who may in fact be innocent), or denying the existence of global warming so that eventually our children will live in a barren, hostile world? I will be writing in Ron Paul. Aside from his shoddy views on gun-control, he meets the definition of what it means to be Pro-Life on just about every issue. My state, New York, will most certainly be going to Obama, so I may as well just vote my conscience, whether it helps someone get elected or not.
