As a physician and a mother of two, I emphatically support Gov. Palin. All life must be respected. It is only with the respect of every human life that we can begin to make strides in protecting children from abuse, neglect, and support those with disabilities. Abortion allows all children to be reduced to object status without rights or protection. Thus, by recognizing human life at conception, we recognize and affirm the value of life and then can begin the process of protecting, supporting and affirming each life with its unique challenges. Lastly, there are no guarantees in life. Each of us will be faced with challenges: some will be physical, others psychological, others spiritual. Hopefully, we will not be asked to die because our affliction is not politically correct.
