This is the same argument that allows the terrorists to thrive. If only you do what they want, they won't kill you. This is also often (historically speaking) how slavery begins to thrive. One person says to another, "Do as I say or I'll kill you and your family." This attitude scares me more than Osama bin Laden. Because it's this attitude that provides him with space and freedom to grow. If everyone in the world told Osama and his buddies, "Go ahead. You can try to kill me, but I'm in it to win it. I will fight you until you relent or one of us is dead." This would deprive the terrorists the fuel they need to start their fire.
